These numbers offer us a small glimpse into the lives of the vulnerable and marginalized in our city. They represent the population of individuals and families who are in crisis in our city. They represent children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. They represent women and children who are being exploited. They represent those in our city that often remain unseen.
Many of us have a passion for issues of Justice and Mercy. We know that they represent real people that deserve dignity and real stories that deserve redemption. But do we actually know how to make a real difference in these areas? Do we even know where to start?
Serve the City is a two day conference that is focused on equipping YOU to be a part of transforming our city through works of Justice and Mercy.
The conference will be on Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th, 2018. The conference will feature three main sessions with engaging worship and inspiring keynote speakers. The conference will also feature 27 different breakouts on Saturday afternoon. The breakouts will be on a variety of topics that will equip you to step into doing justice and mercy in our City.
The Church has a mandate rooted in the Gospel of Jesus to engage in caring for and bringing Justice to the marginalized and vulnerable in our city. We will focus on six major areas of Justice and Mercy — Fighting for the Abolition of Human Trafficking | Alleviating Poverty and Homelessness | Helping Immigrants and Refugees | Caring for Orphans and Vulnerable Children | Restoring and Reintegrating our Prison Population | Fighting for Racial Justice & Reconciliation.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
We are bringing together leaders, churches, businesses, and non-profit organizations from the Orlando Metro area and throughout the Central Florida region who are addressing the justice and mercy needs of our local community. Our speakers and presenters are practitioners that are actively serving the needs of our local community.
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jeremiah 29:7
Join us for the Serve the City Conference where you will be equipped to make a real impact in our city and you will be connected to the leaders and organizations on the front lines of these issues.
